ASU Updates

SummerUp Camps at ASU
Mark your calendars for a chance to learn about life as a college student this summer at ASU. Join other high school students at SummerUp Camps at ASU for a residential enrichment program on ASU’s West campus.

Students will experience life as a future Sun Devil by living and dining on campus, engaging in college-level coursework, and meeting friends who share their academic interests.

Students can choose from a variety of programs including:
  • Art Makers Camp
  • Art and Technology
  • Arts, Media and Engineering Lab
  • Business Scholars Institute
  • Chinese Language and Culture Week
  • Coding Camp
  • Forensics
  • Heat Wave: Solutions for a Desert City

YOTO Trade School Scholarship

Scholarship Awards:
TRADE/VOCATIONAL TRAINING STUDENTS: up to $1,000 for school fees (tuition fees), uniforms, books, special equipment (medical supplies, shoes, etc.)
All Scholarship Students will receive: Full access to the mini mall (food, hygiene supplies, and monthly bus pass)

Cluff Law Car Accident Scholarship
Criteria: Applicant must be attending college by Fall 2018 and have at least a 3.0 GPA. They must be interested pursuing a law-related degree.
Deadline: May 31, 2018
Award Amount: $750

Dr. Shahram Salemy, a board-certified plastic surgeon in Seattle. Dr. Salemy is passionate about learning and is offering $1000 scholarship available to high school seniors. This is the second year that he has offered this scholarship! It will be awarded to a senior who has been accepted to college (either 4-year or community) and has interest in the sciences. The money will be issued to the accepting college.

The application process for the Mahin and Saifulla Salemy High School Scientific Scholarship includes:
  • Written application
  • Personal statement
  • 3 references (teachers or employers)
  • Interview

Mitchell & Crunk Adoption Scholarship 
Criteria:
Applicants must be attending college by the Fall 2018 semester. The Scholarship will be judged on merit and need. Academic achievements as well as any leadership experiences will be taken in to account.

Carol M. Lyons Scholarship

Available on a competitive basis to graduating high school seniors from Tucson Unified School District
Minimum H.S. GPA of 2.5
Awards are for $2,000 - $10,000
Students must receive free or reduced price lunch and meet three of the following four criteria:
·         Demonstrate unmet financial need (Total college expenses minues FAFSA and/or all scholarships and grants received).
·         Demonstrate participation of a minimum of 100 hours of community service activities during their middle/high school years.
·         Demonstrate substantial (formal) leadership in school/community activities.
·         Is a Deferred Action for Childhood Arrival (DACA) student.

Animation Career Review "Aspiring Animation Professional" Scholarship. This $1000 scholarship is awarded annually to a student interested in pursuing an animation related degree at an accredited post-secondary school or college. Interested students can visit AnimationCareerReview.com to find eligibility information along with an online application. This is the seventh year we have offered this scholarship. 
The deadline is June 1, 2018.

Fashion Schools "Aspiring Fashion Professional" Scholarship. This $1000 scholarship is awarded annually to a student interested in pursuing a fashion degree at an accredited post-secondary school or college.  Interested students can visit Fashion-Schools.org to find eligibility information along with an online application. This is the fifth year we have offered this scholarship. 
The deadline is June 1, 2018.

Online MBA Report "Aspiring Business Professional" Scholarship. This $1,000 scholarship is awarded annually to a student interested in pursuing a business degree at any accredited post-secondary school or college. The Earn to Learn scholarship is a financial education program that provides an 8 to 1 savings match for low-to-middle income students, giving each student up to $4,000. This $4,000 can be used at any of the three Arizona in-state universities (ASU, NAU or UA) and is renewable for up to 4 years! We recently opened our application to high school students planning to start at ASU, NAU, or UA in the Fall of 2019.  Eligible students can visit our website to begin the application process.

Responsible Pest Control in Arizona is offering a $1,000 scholarship to Arizona students to help pay for college expenses. Deadline is December 15, 2018. You can find more information regarding the scholarship requirements and details by following the link below:



Sleep Titan Scholarship
To participate in the scholarship contest, applicants must meet the following criteria:

2018-19 HENAAC Scholarship
DEADLINE: 11:59 PM PST, April 30, 2018
Graduating high school seniors, undergraduate students and graduate students, who intend to or are currently pursuing a science, technology, engineering, or math (STEM) degree at an accredited college/university in the U.S. or Puerto Rico, are encouraged to apply for these merit-based scholarships. Students must have an overall minimum 3.0 GPA and must be of Hispanic descent or demonstrate strong leadership or service within the Hispanic community.

Scholarship awards range from $500 - $10,000

Scholarship recipients will be invited to attend the 30th HENAAC Conference, from October 18 – 21, 2018, in Pasadena, CA. Great Minds in STEM subsidizes over $850 in registration, travel and housing for the Scholars to attend this conference, where they will meet their sponsors, be awarded their scholarship and formally recognized as new members of the GMiS Scholars Society.

Types of scholarships:

Corporate / Government Sponsored Scholarships – These scholarships are made possible thanks to our dedicated scholarship sponsors from corporate America, federal agencies and affinity groups.

Special Recognition Scholarships
Intel Scholarship – These highly-competitive $10,000 scholarships are awarded to qualified graduate students pursuing a computer science, IT or related software development degree. Recipients may also have the opportunity to receive a Letter of Intent from Intel. 
U.S. Navy STEM Scholarship - These highly-competitive $10,000 scholarships are awarded to qualified graduating high school seniors, who have a minimum 3.0 GPA, and will be pursuing a STEM degree at a Hispanic-Serving Institution (HSI). During their first semester in college, these scholars have the opportunity to apply for the Student Employment Program, which provides them a summer internship and continued funding through their undergraduate career, so long as the student maintains a competitive GPA.
In Memoriam and Personal Scholarships - Great Minds in STEM awards some very special scholarships, which have been established in the loving memory of an endeared supporter of GMiS or have been established by long-time supporters and dear friends of GMiS.  Scholarships begin at $500.
