Scholarship
The Tucson Alumnae
Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. established the Betty Brown
Scholarship to assist African- American/African (decent) high school senior
girls who have a passion to learn, a determination to succeed, and an eagerness
to earn a college degree.

Eligibility:
Graduating
senior from Tucson High, Catalina High, and Rincon High School
Have at
least a 2.0 GPA
Identify
as African, African Diaspora, or be of African descent
Be of
great financial need
Requirements: Submit a 500 word essay
answering the following questions.
What is
your identity and how do you celebrate it?
How has
the American educational system shaped your understanding of the history of
African and its people?
How has
your African heritage clashed with traditionally and culturally with American
traditions and customs

Memorial Scholarship
Eligibility:
Tucson
Unified School District ethnic minority female seniors who graduate in December
2016 or May 2017.
Planning
to attend any public Arizona college or university

pursue a major in education, science or math.
